Kids Kampong

It was a usual saturday afternoon, the girls woke up from their nap.....

And next, we pack them in the car and drove to Pasir Ris Farmway where the "Kids Kampong" is.

We paid $11 each for the girls and they were each given a bucket, a fishing net, a packet of fish feeds, a bottle of mineral water and coupon to redeem ice cream at the end of the day.

Here you can see us in action.....i can tell you, it is very tiring to squat by the lokang.

Feeding the Koi

The girls were excited to see the farm animals such as th gooes, ducks, chickens, rabbits...etc

Isabel gets to draw water from the well too.

Punggol Beach

Brought the kids to the beach...

This is me, I found a turtle at the beach. I believe its the type that people would cook with tonic soup

It was a hot day, but the kids don't seems to bother.

My wife asked me to do something about the heat. So I gathered some branches and built a tent. Not bad eh?

Peer Pressure

I know nowadays kids are facing a lot more pressure than what we used to when we were kids. Studies... Tuitions... Performance anxiety... Peer pressure...

I also know Isabel at 5 years old is facing some pressure herself. Just the other day, she came to me with a request...

Isabel: "Daddy... I can watch TV."

Me: "Sure, go ahead, switch it on yourself."

Isabel: "Not now... tonight at 9 o'clock."

Me: "But that's your bed time. Besides, why watch cartoon at that hour?"

Isabel: "Not cartoon, Channel 5... but all my friends are watching. Its about this old man... then... then..."

Me: "...well?"

Isabel: "But all my friends are watching and talking about it, if I don't watch, I got nothing to talk about!"

I gave in.

At 9 o'clock, I switched on the TV, she started to watch with excitement, but in less than 5 mins, she's wrestling with her sister on my bed... in another 5 minutes, she's at her play area looking for books, totally has no interest with the TV show.

Oldies Goldies

2 weeks ago I just past the "Mid-Thirties" mark... and I'm in denial that 36 is late thirties, but the truth is... I'm not that far either.

I may not be as fit as I used to be... now I only think I can be as fit as I can be. My appetite is still good but can't eat as much, maybe only half of what I used to eat 10 years ago.

But the worst part of knowing I getting old is when walking by music CD stalls, I realized that my favorite albums and singers are in the 3 CD for $10 rack, or otherwise they have the songs compiled and sell it as "Oldies"

My wife was teasing me, she said :Only old people listen to oldies." I gave a quick response "No... That's not true."

Or is it?...

Spicy eater

Recently I discovered that Isabel has my "eat-spicy"gene. She started with curry, then curry puffs... now she fancy dipping those sushi in wasabi. She'll eat with tears in her eyes, but still continue to dip some more.
That day I ran out of ideas for games to play with them, so we played cleaning the house...

I was kind of worried when Ally wanted to clean my 40" LCD TV, but good thing she only clean the table.
